Prices: 3-days/2-nights: Adults $360, children 8-13 $288.
Rosebud Llamas Utah offers fully-catered pack trips in three unique areas of the state — the San Rafael Swell, the South Unit of the Ashley National Forest, and Browns Park on the Green River. With your input on interests, we make all the arrangements — all you have to do is gather your gear and meet us at a designated rendezvous. We provide and prepare all meals (you select the menu). Our trips are by appointment. If we're available when you want to go, that's when your trip takes place. We will book a trip for 2-4 people so in most cases, your trip is truly "your trip."
The San Rafael Swell is one of Utah's most impressive and least known geological wonderlands. It's a one million acre uplift slightly southeast of the center of Utah. Over time, wind and water have carved out the interior, leaving deep canyons, enormous rock walls, arches, and pinnacles. Prehistoric rock art and a rich history shared around the campfire enhance the experience. Ancient Fremont Indians and Butch Cassidy are believed to have both used one of our favorite campsites. Our pack trips in the Swell take you along the San Rafael River. Good campsites can be reached with very little elevation gain. There are options for day hikes from the base camp ranging from leisurely to challenging.
