Goblin Valley State Park
Location: off Highway 24 and I-70, part of the San Rafael Swell

Goblin Valley State Park is famous for its large collections of fancifully shaped rock formations. In the warm months, visitors can stay and camp in the 21-unit campground. Facilities at the 3,654-acre park include a campground, observation outlook, culinary water, modern restrooms, hot water showers and a sanitary dump station for trailers and motorhomes. This is a good base camp to stay in when visiting Little Wildhorse and Bell Canyons.

San Rafael Recreation Area
Location: San Rafael Swell, near Buckhorn Wash
Services: many campsites, tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets. There is no drinking water available.
Camping facilities are provided at the San Rafael Bridge Recreation Site adjacent to the San Rafael River. The lofty escarpment to the north and large buttes to the east and west border the recreation site. No reservations are taken for these campgrounds.
The swinging bridge located to the West was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938, and was the only bridge over the river until the early 1990s. Though you can no longer drive on it, it is perfectly safe to walk on. Visit BLM web page or call the Price BLM office at (435) 636-3600 for more information
Primitive Camping in the San Rafael
Primitive Camping is allowed in the San Rafael. Please camp in previously impacted areas and follow the leave no trace guidelines. Carry all water and wood and avoid building campfires.
