River Rafting
Spectacular Desolation and Gray canyons are north of the Green River State Park. Churning, white water rapids are scattered on the placid stretches of river. South of the park, the river travels through the red rocks of Labyrinth Canyon. Further south, after the Green joins the Colorado, the mighty river fights its way through Cataract Canyon for some of the best white water rafting in the United States.
Minnow Canyon, a 70-mile stretch perfect for river runners, starts at Green River State Park.
You may wish to travel the Green River with a professional rafting company. We feature two sample river rafting itineraries for you to review.
If you are experienced enough to travel the Green River without a guide, you may want to rent equipment from Carbon County Recreation, in Price. They offer rafts and all of the gear to go with it at very reasonable prices.
Most areas require a permit. For information on permits and very helpful trip planning guides, water level information and more visit www.blm.gov/utah/price/information.htm.
One thing is guaranteed, no matter how you ride the Green River, you will be thrilled!!
