Cross Country Skiing
If the beauty of the mountains calls to you, even in the winter, try Castle Country's cross country skiing. Following snow-covered roads through the breathtaking Manti-LaSal National Forest and near Scofield State Park, cross country skiing takes visitors through the winter ranges of some of Utah's wildest residents. Mule deer, elk, and even hares and raptors are all seen in Castle Country's backcountry.

Snowshoeing
If you can walk, you can snowshoe and seeing Castle Country by snowshoe the way to get to know it. By following either groomed roads or snowpacked paths, snowshoeing takes you into some of the most breathtaking country around. Snowcovered pines and bare aspens open up on sweeping vistas. Trails take you near historic ghost towns and modern mining operations. Guides are available to customize a tour for your entire family.

Snowmobiling
Utah has one of the best snowmobile trail systems in the country and Castle Country provides one of the most scenic sections. Snowmobilers will find hundreds of miles of groomed and ungroomed trails in the high mountainous regions. The Skyline Drive Scenic Backway provides 87 miles of snowmobiling excitement. With dramatic views and wildlife viewing opportunities, this ride is one of the best. Several guides and outfitters offer tours and equipment rentals.
